WHAT WE LOVED AND LEARNED IN 2019

2019 is fast approaching a close and to say it was a great year would be an understatement.  Here are some highlights of this year:

  1. We added a nutritional consulting services with our lead dietitian, Michelle Tegenkamp.

  2. We added a new physical therapist and co-owner, Neville Chu, who will be developing the clinical care aspect of HQPT.

  3. We expanded our wellness consulting services to service more of our corporate and organizational partners in Oregon.

All of these initiatives were done in line with our mission to “Empower the Individual, Change the Industry”.  Our intention is to bring a new take on physical therapy to more people within our reach. For far too long, physical therapy has lacked a holistic and interpersonal nature and we aim to change that in both our one-on-one clinical practice as well as with the hundreds of Oregon employees we interact with.

In the process of doing all this here are 3 things we learned to help us grow as healthcare providers.

Our words matter more than we think

We are constantly working to improve our communication and education with our patients.  It is our belief that the exercises we give to our patients come second to the trust we build, the beliefs we foster, and the expectations we meet of all our patients.

The process of getting bigger requires looking smaller

As we scale outward we also want to look inward.  We will always be a company that seeks to enrich the experience of all those who trust us with their care.  We want to know what it is we do well, what we need to improve upon, and in what ways we can make your time spent with us that much better.  Whether we have 10 patients or 10,000, every patient matters to us and everyone’s experience here should impact the ethos we are building.

We will always be “wrong” to some degree

We are not above science.  As practitioners we are constantly striving to improve our knowledge base, enhance our clinical practice, and serve our clients with greater accuracy and honesty.  This means we will never have all the answers. We may even find in a few years time that the answers we have today are inaccurate at the very least. This is a truth and a gray area that we have come to embrace.  However, as quick as we are to admit things we do not know, we will be just as quick to seek out the best possible answer. We commit to this because we believe that each patient deserves better than to be filled with false narratives of treatment in the name of building rapport.

If you’ve come this far with us then we thank you and ask that you continue to ride with us in 2020 and the years to come.  We are doing everything in our power to deliver the best physical therapy experience known to man and we are fully confident that our patients will not be disappointed.

If we have been helpful to you in any way then we humbly ask that you help us spread the word.  Tell a friend, a family member, or a coworker about who we are and what we do. It would mean everything to us!
